Custom annual hi-rail inspection stickers provide company-detail and inspection-date markings. The available 5¾ × 2-inch designs have product-specific personalization and date-marking instructions. Compare the artwork before selecting a layout.
The Annual Hi-Rail Safety Inspection Checklist is a physical paper report, not an adhesive sticker. Each 8½ × 12-inch report set has white, yellow and pink copies, with vehicle-identification fields, hi-rail gear checks, findings, comments and an inspector signature area.
Custom dielectric-test stickers record test-related information for hi-rail and bucket-truck equipment. Dielectric testing is a separate application from the hi-rail gear safety inspection; select the product that matches the work performed.
Embossable annual inspection labels offer another way to record equipment and inspection details. Check the individual listing for the material, marking method and available inspection categories.
Under 49 CFR 214.523(a), hi-rail gear must be inspected for safety at least annually, with no more than 14 months between inspections. Tram, wheel wear and gage must be measured and adjusted if necessary.
Section 214.523(b) requires employers to keep inspection records until the next required inspection is performed. Records may use employer-provided forms or electronic means and may be kept on the vehicle or at an employer-designated location.
The operator’s check at the start of the work shift is a separate requirement under §214.523(d). An annual date sticker does not replace that check or the required inspection records.
