Crawler Crane Electrical Clearance Sticker – BC-Referenced Charts

EC-002CrLa-CA

This crawler crane electrical power line clearance sticker is a customer-requested design featuring two separate clearance charts: one for operating near power lines or crane assembly/disassembly, and one for passing under exposed electrical equipment and conductors. The chart distances match those in British Columbia’s WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation Tables 19-1A and 19-1B.

Originally requested by a Canadian customer, this design should not be treated as a Canada-wide approved label or as an interchangeable replacement for the standard US-referenced Table A design. Compare the complete artwork with your equipment’s required replacement label and the requirements applicable to your workplace.

Printed Warning and Two-Chart Layout

DANGER
ELECTRICAL POWER LINE CLEARANCE
ELECTROCUTION HAZARD
DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY

The left panel depicts a tracked crawler crane with a lattice boom near overhead power lines. The two charts list phase-to-phase voltage bands with distances in meters and feet. Additional printed notes address unknown voltage, circumstances where minimum clearance cannot be maintained, and environmental conditions. The artwork references OHS regulations 19.25 and 19.26.

British Columbia WorkSafeBC Regulations and Policy

Customers can find the source tables and related provisions in WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation Part 19: Electrical Safety. Look for these specific sections:

  • Section 19.24.1 and Table 19-1A: Minimum approach distance when working close to exposed electrical equipment and conductors. The label’s operating/assembly chart uses the same listed distances.
  • Section 19.24.2 and Table 19-1B: Minimum clearance distance when passing under exposed electrical equipment and conductors. The label’s passing-under chart uses the same listed distances. This section concerns moving equipment without other work beyond work related to that movement; it includes loads carried by the equipment.
  • Section 19.25: Assurance in writing. This is one of the references printed in the label’s notes.
  • Section 19.26: Assurance not practicable. This is the other reference printed in the label’s notes.

For related interpretation, see WorkSafeBC OHS Policies Part 19, policy R19.24-1: Working Close to Energized High Voltage Equipment and Conductors. This policy discusses planning equipment operations near overhead conductors and written assurances under section 19.25.

Artwork detail: The current WorkSafeBC tables begin with “Over 750 V to 75 kV,” while this label prints “750 V to 75 kV.” Review the complete current regulation, not the sticker alone, when determining applicable procedures or distances. Matching chart values is not a certification of the decal or a determination of suitability for a particular job.

Choosing and Placing Your Replacement Label

For a cab-operated crawler or lattice boom crane, we recommend a visible interior cab panel near the operating controls where the chart can be read from the seated operating position. Do not obstruct windows, controls, instruments, load charts or other warnings.

This is general placement guidance, not a verified factory location for every model. Use the original label position when known and follow the manufacturer’s decal-location diagram. Follow the decal’s application instructions and prepare a clean, dry surface.

This sticker communicates a warning. It does not provide electrical protection, prevent accidents or establish regulatory compliance. It does not replace training, job planning, equipment instructions or required hazard controls.

Compare the Standard Table A Design

The EC-002CrLa crawler and lattice boom crane power line clearance sticker uses a different Table A chart and references 1926.1407, .1408 and .1409. Match the required chart and wording; the two versions are not automatically interchangeable.

The operating/assembly chart’s distances match WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation section 19.24.1, Table 19-1A. The passing-under chart’s distances match section 19.24.2, Table 19-1B. The artwork also references sections 19.25 and 19.26. Links to the regulations and related policy R19.24-1 are included in the product description.
