What does crush zone mean?

A crush zone is an area where movement can trap or compress a hand or another body part between equipment components, or between equipment and a fixed surface. This label's pictogram specifically depicts a hand-crushing hazard. The sticker does not define a safe clearance distance or identify every hazard on a machine.

Recommended placement

As a general recommendation, use a visible fixed panel or guard beside the identified crushing point, where a person can read the warning before reaching into the area. Face the label toward the normal approach or service-access direction. A warning inside the cab alone may not be visible to someone approaching the hazard from outside.

This is general guidance, not a verified factory location. Follow the equipment manufacturer's required label and placement. Keep the decal off sliding or contact surfaces, cylinder rods and locations where movement would rub it away, and do not obscure controls, existing warnings or inspection points.

Check before ordering

Compare the wording, pictogram, dimensions and available mounting space with the label required for your application. This warning sticker is not a guard, interlock or lockout device, and does not make entry into a crush zone safe. Follow the manufacturer's operating and service procedures.
