Yellow-and-Blue Overhead Crane Directional Sticker

This crane directional decal displays North, South, East, and West markings in a yellow-and-blue compass layout. It provides a visual direction reference for overhead crane equipment. Compare the printed arrow arrangement with your crane and controller markings before ordering.

Size Options

Choose from 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12.5, 14, 20, 24, or 48 inches. Measure the available mounting area and consider the operator’s normal viewing position when selecting a size.

Choosing the Correct Configuration

Check the north, south, east, and west arrow arrangement before ordering and installation. Confirm that the configuration matches the intended crane travel directions and corresponding controller markings at your facility. Different viewing positions and crane layouts can require different arrangements.

Need a different arrow arrangement? Compare our alternate N-S-E-W overhead crane directional sticker and select the configuration that matches your equipment.

Application Notes

Use a suitable clean, smooth, dry surface and follow the product and equipment instructions. Choose a mounting location appropriate for the crane and intended viewing position.

ASME B30.2 Directional Marking

ASME B30.2 Section 2-1.1.6(c) requires directional markings on applicable overhead and gantry crane equipment or facilities. The standard identifies “north, south, east, west” as examples of acceptable markings and specifies that they must be legible to the operator and consistent with the direction-of-movement markings on the crane controllers.

This N-S-E-W overhead crane directional decal is designed to provide clear, visible directional markings for applicable crane equipment or facilities. Before installation, verify that the decal’s directions match the corresponding controller markings and actual crane movement.

The yellow-and-blue color scheme and graphic layout are product-design features. They are not represented as colors or artwork specifically mandated by ASME B30.2 or OSHA.

OSHA 29 CFR 1910.179(b)(2) also requires covered overhead and gantry cranes constructed and installed on or after August 31, 1971, to meet the design specifications of ANSI B30.2.0-1967, as incorporated by reference.

The directional configuration should correspond to the actual travel directions of the crane and the directional markings on its controls. Before installing the decal, verify which physical direction corresponds to north, south, east, and west at the crane location. The arrows should be positioned so the markings are consistent with the crane's actual direction of movement and controller markings.

This decal is intended for application to clean, smooth, dry surfaces commonly found on overhead crane equipment and related facility surfaces. Before installation, remove dirt, grease, oil, rust, loose paint, and other contaminants so the decal can properly adhere. For textured, heavily corroded, freshly painted, or otherwise unusual surfaces, test adhesion before full installation.

Measure the available mounting area and consider the operator’s normal viewing position and viewing distance. Choose a size that fits the surface and allows the directional markings to be read from the intended operating position.

Choose from 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12.5, 14, 20, 24, or 48 inches. Select the required size option before ordering.

No. A decal is one part of directional identification, not a certification of compliance. Confirm that its layout, placement, and controller markings meet the requirements applicable to your equipment and workplace.
