Choosing a PTO shaft warning sticker

Use this wording where the equipment's identified hazard is a rotating driveline or power take-off (PTO) shaft. Compare the message, dimensions and available label space with the equipment manufacturer's marking instructions before ordering a replacement.

The sticker communicates a warning. It is not a driveline guard, a substitute for guarding, or a complete shutdown and hazardous-energy isolation procedure. Follow the manufacturer's operating and service instructions and your workplace's applicable isolation procedures before approaching or servicing the machinery.

Recommended placement

As general guidance, place the label on a visible, fixed guard or adjacent stationary panel where people can read it before approaching the rotating-shaft hazard. Do not attach it to the rotating shaft itself or position it where reading the warning requires reaching into the hazard area.

Use the manufacturer's specified label position when available. A factory location or fit for a particular tractor, truck or PTO assembly has not been verified here. Keep guard openings, identification plates, controls and existing required markings unobstructed.
