Mobile Crane Hand Signal Chart Decal

H-004

This Mobile Crane Hand Signal Chart decal provides a visual reference for crane operators, signal persons, and ground crews. The chart shows 20 labeled hand-signal illustrations, including Hoist, Lower, Swing, Stop, Emergency Stop, Dog Everything, and Move Slowly. This is a physical adhesive vinyl chart, not a downloadable PDF.

Choose your chart size

  • H-004: 7 inches wide × 8 inches tall.
  • H-004-18x24: 18 inches wide × 24 inches tall.

Both sizes display the same 20-signal layout. Compare the available mounting space and intended viewing location before choosing a size.

Hand signal chart posting

For operations covered by OSHA's construction crane rules, 1926.1422 states that hand signal charts must be posted on the equipment or conspicuously in the vicinity of the hoisting operations. That is a posting requirement, not a requirement to purchase this particular decal or a guarantee that displaying it establishes compliance.

Follow the applicable equipment and site requirements when selecting and positioning your reference chart. As general application guidance, use a suitable clean, dry surface where the chart remains visible without covering controls, identification plates, or existing warnings.

This is a mobile crane hand signal chart, not an overhead-crane travel-direction chart. It is a reference aid and does not replace signal-person training, qualification, or agreed operating procedures.

Provides a standardized set of visual communication signals for crane operators
and ground support teams, crucial for safety and precision in lifting operations,
especially where verbal communication is difficult. Includes twenty specific
gestures for basic and complex maneuvers.

STANDARD STOP
One arm extended horizontally, palm down, moving back and forth.
EMERGENCY STOP
Both arms extended horizontally, palms down, moving both arms back and forth
simultaneously.

The signal person extends arm horizontally and uses index finger to point in the
desired direction of the boom swing.

General Travel: Forearm moved in a beckoning motion toward the shoulder.

Both Tracks Movement: Both fists rotated in a circular motion in front of the
body.

Single Track Turn: Raise a fist to indicate the locked side, while the other fist
performs a vertical circular motion for the moving track.

Hoist: Forearm vertical, forefinger pointing upward, hand moves in small horizontal circles.

Lower: Arm extended downward, forefinger pointing toward the ground, hand
moves in similar small horizontal circles.

Main Hoist: The Signal person taps fist on top of their head before motion signals.

Whipline (Auxiliary Hoist): The Signal person taps elbow with one hand before
motion signals.

Combination of two hands: one hand gives the standard motion signal, while the other hand is held motionless directly in front of the signaling hand.
